Boerne Backward

And now, for the real life version of the shell game!

He (Grady Jolley) donated $3,850 to the group, which formed just before elections last May to support Heckler and Ron Warden who both won council seats, and a third candidate who lost.

Heckler said he welcomes new voices in local debates, but distanced himself from Boerne Forward, saying, "I don't know who they are or what they represent."

Similarly, Warden said he was unaware Boerne Forward had registered as a political action committee.

"I'm not part of the group and don't have any contact with them," he said.

Do the developers and money interests win over the rest of us? Hmmm.

Boerne Forward??

We have the Chamber, the EDC and now Boerne Forward. These are simply synonyms for the same organization sponsored by large national developers. Their goal -- move BOERNE FORWARD into a giant "Metroplex" before anyone realizes what happened.

OK, the ethics filings show that the PAC, Boerne Forward, was formed to support Heckler, Warden and Haberstroh. It lists those who contibuted to the PAC. San Antonio Express News said that Warden spent election day with Mr. Taylor, the treasurer for Boerne Forward. And we are supposed to believe that they didn't know that much about it...that either leaves us with some not so astute council people who could be easily manipulated by outsiders, or- there is some selective memory happening here.

On May 4 the Boerne Star reported that Heckler had received $3,850 in campain contributions between Feb. 7 through April 12. This is the same amount contributed by Esperanza's lawyer, Grady Jolley, to Boerne Forward for the election. Weird.
The Star article listed other Esperanza contributors as well:
Warden contributors:
$2,000 from Hagee (former property owner)
Jolley: $500 (lawyer for Esperanza)
Baker: $1,000 (works for Esperanza)
These aren't all, just the ones for that period.
